George W. Bush's political epitaph will read: "From first to last, he scared the hell out of the American people."
Starting with fabricated forebodings about Saddam Hussein's imminent plans to nuke us into oblivion, his Administration played the fear card all the way to this week's deadpan televised alarm about financial panic. At the White House meeting the next day, he warned Congressional leaders and the presidential candidates in his usual elegant phrasing, “If money isn’t loosened up, this sucker could go down.”
In 2002, we had a president who made us want hide under our beds and, six years later, he was inspiring us to hide our money under the mattress.
Franklin D. Roosevelt started his tenure by telling Americans, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." In a new century, when the new president came to office, political prophets should have told us, "The only thing we have to fear is Bush himself."
Even the most diehard horror-movie lovers will find eight years of being terrified too much. For the next White House movie, they will be looking for a new theme. Hope, perhaps.

This plan will not help anyone except Wall Street, if you are unemployed, after this plan you will still be unemployed, if your house is being foreclosed, after this bill, it will still be foreclosed, if your 401k and other other stocks are worthless, after the bail out they will still be worthless. Do not be seduced or fooled by this urgent call to act now, the markets will be just fine without our money, it may fall a bit, but it will go back up.
Only the Corporate elite will benefit from this bail out, ask yourself when the last time Government acted in your best interest and not the interest of the elite,I can't think of one, but I can tell you about all the legislation passed to help every Corporation that has donated billions to our Congressional leaders, this is the same thing, a wolf in sheep's clothing, our Government telling us how they are going to help us, by bailing out the rich.
Everyone needs to contact their Representative and protest this bill NOW!!! before it's too late, here is the site to contact your representative. www.house.gov
Why are only the banks being blamed? They lent money to US American WITH jobs who could afford to pay their mortgages. If companies in this country didn't out-source jobs Americans could afford their bills. And Bush already has his "guest worker" plan by renaming them "refugees" companies in THIS country bring in 80-90% foreign labor; NOT just the illegal Mexicans. Where are the news articles this??? A bail-out should include a plan to protect profits by employing one's own people.
McCain doesn't want to talk about age - because his and Cindy's companies won't hire anyone even 20/25 years younger than he.
"It's the economy, stupid" means hiring US Americans.
