In the first quarter of this year, Americans gave $23 million to a Presidential candidate who now tells them his favorite novel is "Battlefield Earth" by the founder of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard, which he calls " very fun science-fiction."
Bad taste is not necessarily a disqualification for the White House, and to be fair, Mitt Romney picked "Raiders of the Lost Ark" as his favorite movie. But he may have thought it was a documentary.
